The Wedding and Honeymoon Show
COVID-19 Industry Support
THE organisers of The Wedding and Honeymoon Show, due to take place in the RDS, Dublin on the 3rd – 4th September 2022, together with show founder Terry Burns, continue to work with the industry in a bid to help build the foundations for the wedding sector’s future comeback.
In a new way of doing business, EventHaus, the event organisers, and Terry Burns, are galvanising support for The Wedding & Honeymoon Show by asking potential exhibitors to sign up for the show, simply choosing your location, signing a booking form to secure your location at the Wedding & Honeymoon show 2022
As a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pledge will ensure that companies can secure a stand at the September show without the need for a deposit or any further stand payments before April 2022
Understanding the enormity of the pandemic on the wedding industry, Garret Buckley, Managing Director of EventHaus, feels that this is the time, where now more than ever, you have to rely on existing relationships. Trust becomes the currency not Euro.
Garret explains: “In the midst of continued uncertainty, we appreciate suppliers are working hard to catch up on lost revenue. We understand that it remains impossible for businesses to look ahead to September, let alone commit financially to future events at this time. However, we also know that many of our loyal exhibitors rely on our shows to generate future business.
“The wedding market is affected with cancellations and postponements, but weddings will always win out and we are hopeful for a major boost to show attendance come September.
“Our unique pledge, based on goodwill, has been designed to galvanise industry support and to help us plan for the future. By pledging to support The Wedding and Honeymoon Show, we will continue to work with our suppliers in creating a September event like no other, that’s well positioned for our exhibitors to be front and centre in availing of the upturn.”
Sara Kennedy, one of Ireland’s leading wedding bloggers and host of the ‘I Do’ School at the show comments:
“EventHaus are leading the way by allowing companies to secure a space at the show without a need for a deposit and I think this is key to giving businesses, many of whom are small or self-employed, the hope to forward plan and see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Commenting after signing the pledge is wedding cake specialist, Bernie Kennelly:
“I was counting on my April and May bookings before booking the show, and now I can’t, so this pledge really is a lifeline to my business. I have been going to the show for over twenty years, so it is great to see the organisers getting behind small businesses like mine and acknowledging the hard times we are currently going through. Wedding Cakes is my business, so knowing that I will be able to put my brand in front of thousands of potential customers come September, is a real relief for me.”
Another exhibitor who is in support of the pledge is Pete McGreal, owner of Video Memories Media. Pete adds: “I have been exhibiting at The Wedding & Honeymoon Show for a number of years, so it is really great to see the organisers backing businesses within the wedding sector. It is a difficult time for all of us but knowing there is support out there and having the security of the two-day show to look forward to is a relief. It is always a busy but great event and I look forward to meeting many new customers at the show in September.”
